GN Spider, Shelsley Special, built break the hill record, which it achieved.

GN "Spider" Shelsley Special. Built by Basil Davenport to take the hill record at the world's oldest continually used unchanged course, Shelsley Walsh in the 1920's, which it did in 1926. Built on a GN cycle car chassis, like so many specials, and, once powered by a Frazer Nash 1500 4 valve V twin running a solid rear axle, it continued to break the record for a few years. Here racing at Mallory Park 31.08.24
