Nissan Skyline RS Turbo R30

The sixth-generation Skyline, the R30 model, was released in 1981. It gained popularity with the introduction of the FJ20 4-cylinder, 4-valve DOHC engine in the 2000RS series, complementing the existing 2000GT Turbo lineup. In February 1983, the Turbo RS was introduced with a turbocharged FJ20 engine, delivering a remarkable 190ps and earning the tagline "The most powerful Skyline in history." 

The subsequent facelift in the summer transformed the RS models with a unique grill-less front design, earning it the nickname "Iron Mask." In February of the following year, the Turbo RS was upgraded to the 205ps Turbo Intercooler RS, keeping the model in the spotlight.

The now defunct Speedhunters visited Garage Kamiya and Akamatsu-san’s MGC GT Sebring works car replica. From an MGC GT, the car that Akamatsu-san has built takes a lot of inspiration from the works Sebring GTS racers. Working with (his father) Kamiya-san, who was at the time racing his own yellow MGB, the pair transformed the plastic surgeon’s leather sofa on wheels into a bare-bones weekend race car. Many of the parts were sourced from MG Motorsports in Bovingdon, U To get the body looking right, Akamatsu-san entrusted Yamada-san of Yamada Auto in Kawaguchi to construct the oversized fender flares, by hand, with nothing more than a pile of photos and the book MGC GTS Lightweights: Abingdon’s Last Racers. Alpine A220 Shortail

When Zagato showed the world it's gorgeous  AGTZ Twin Tail  you couldn't help but notice the photographs of the Alpine A220 included in almost every online article, after all, it was described as one of the classic Alpine's that Zagato turned too for inspiration. The stunning photos of the 660kg, V8 engined Alpine A220 shown here, were taken on the  Julierpass in the Alps by  Andresito6000 for an article published on  Classic Driver . Born out of rule changes, for the V8 engine, Gordini used two of it's existing 1.5ltr 4 cylinder engines on a single crank to produce the (designated) T62 V8, initially utilising 4 Webber carburettors to produce 310bhp, before switching to fuel injection giving 350bhp.  It was soon apparent that Gordini's engine was simply not powerful enough and the A220 wasn't competitive or reliable.  Alpine constructed a tubular spaceframe chassis for the V8 to be mounted in.
