Revisiting Prescott - Allard J2 Competition

Revisiting Prescott Speed Hillclimb from October 2023 and a lovely 1951 Allard J2

OZ4444 was exhibited at the Festival of Britain before being delivered to racing driver Desmond Titterington in Belfast in September 1951. Following 14 podiums in his 24 outings in the Allard – including an outright win in the 1952 Leinster Trohpy – Titterington moved on to the Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar team and the Allard went to Calcutta in India.

The Allard Register - The J2 was the ultimate British hot rod. Because its components were built for much heavier cars, they seldom broke, and for a few glorious years before the rest of Europe caught up, it was very difficult to beat.

90 J2's were built between 1949 and 1951.

Classic and Sportscar published an article on OZ4444 in 2014, now available online.
