The Matra Sports Jet 6, also known as the Matra Jet 6, was a significant model in the history of French sports cars. It was the result of Matra's acquisition of RenĂ© Bonnet's Djet project and marked a shift towards a more refined sports car with a wider public appeal.
The Jet 6 featured a mid-engine layout, the first in a production car, a fiberglass body. Despite its success in competitions, the Jet 6 faced some reliability issues and was heavier than its rivals, which limited its handling capabilities.
However, it did achieve some success in races like the Chamrousse and the Coupe de Paris. The Jet 6's production ceased in 1968, but it left a lasting legacy in the world of motorsports and automotive design.
