Lancia Fulvia Sport 1600 Zagato

Silodrome published these photos with an article titled "The Affordable Zagato", relatively true compared to the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, which came from the pen of the same designer Ercole Spada. Good eye sir.

Powered by a very narrow angled V4 with a single cylinder head, a design later popularised by VW and its VR6 engine. Twin cams, one doing the task of lifting the intake valves the other the exhaust valves.

The engine, set at a 45 degree angle to lower the centre of gravity and enable a lower profile front end, was fed by a pair of Solex carburetors.

The 1584cc lump sent its 134hp through a 4 speed box, later replaced with a 5 speed, to the front wheels.

This particular car, imported as a previously used car into the Netherlands in 1986, has since been tweeked including twin Dellorto DHLA 40 carburetors, lightened flywheel and an Gp4 exhaust manifold.

Also fitted with twin headlamps behind  perspex covers, very Ferrari Daytona, replacing the original rectangular lights, and suiting the car perfectly.

For me, the best looking Lancia Fulvia, and I adore the Coupé, and it maybe the best looking Lancia.
